This catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition Slow Future - brings together artists whose work relates to the notion of Degrowth. Degrowth is a political, economical and social movement based on the principles of anti-capitalism, anti-consumerism and sustainability. Degrowth thinkers and activists defend alternative social and economical patterns such as: barter, cooperatives, co-ownership, community exchange, recycling, squatting, as well as eco technologies and transport.
"Fragility crushed by heaviness is a strong and straightforward symbolic statement against the economic and political systems and their representatives. Like the butterfly re-strained by the piece of coal, the future generations will inevitably suffer from the economic and industrial growth swallowing the present, unless we are able to intervene in the process." - Katia Krupennikova
